MCM MERLOT - masterpiece by Alois Lageder

In 1995, the grapes from this vineyard were of such first-class quality that they encouraged the oenologist responsible at the time, Luis von Dellemann, to develop the grapes as a pure variety. The MCM was born. Because it was supposed to come onto the market at the turn of the millennium, we used the Roman numerals for 1900 for its individually designed label. This symbolism has become the distinguishing feature of this wine.

THE LOCATION MCM

At the southern foot of the Margreid rubble cone, a vineyard with the dialect name "Punggl" spreads out, which has been known and sought after for winegrowing since time immemorial. In the mid-1950s, the former owners of the Hirschprunn residence planted a Merlot vineyard there, which had already produced very good results in the previous decades. Today, its heart provides the basis for our MCM. Depending on the vintage, we select more or fewer grapes of the highest quality, which are only chosen for the MCM.
