Giacomo Borgogno & Figli

World class from Piedmont.

Borgogno is one of the oldest wineries in Piedmont, founded in 1761. The wines have always been held in high esteem - they were even served at the official banquet celebrating the unification of Italy in 1861. Today, the Farinetti family is the keeper of the valued, traditional style of wine.

A special feature of the house is the treasury, which is unparalleled in Piedmont. Historic vintages are stored here, especially from the celebrated Barolo Riserva, which has enormous aging potential. A distinctive wine with a strong character from the Cannubi, Liste, Rué and San Pietro vineyards, which smells of rose petals, tobacco, liquorice and leather and offers volume, depth and powerful tannins. It is matured in traditional large casks made from Slavonian oak.

The traditional Italian winery Borgogno is now managed by the Boschis family. Wonderful Barolos, which score with an outstanding aging potential, are the flagship of Borgogno. The winery has a total of 20 hectares of vineyards located in the best Barolo areas, such as Cannubi, Liste, Fossati and San Pietro.
